This course gives students an opportunity to explore the conceptual, pictorial, and narrative elements that go into creating illustration. Through creating a small body of work they will develop the knowledge and understanding of how concept, character, and environment create a cohesive and engaging illustration
Editorial Illustration I
This course focuses directly on the techniques and field of editorial illustration. Assignments include various media and cover the following topics: cover art; spots and story illustration; magazine, newspaper, and book formats.
Editorial Illustration II
A continuation of Illustration I, this course is more challenging. The course includes media demonstrations and a continuation of discussion of historical and contemporary illustrators. Emphasis is on the elements that form strong visual ideas.
